Robert Z. Zavala, age 80, passed away peacefully on February 23,2024. He was a beloved retired police officer, known for his dedication to serving his community with integrity and compassion. Beyond his career in law enforcement, Robert was also deeply involved in coaching football, where he mentored and inspired countless young athletes.

An avid pickleball player, Robert approached life with enthusiasm and a competitive spirit both on and off the court. He cherished the camaraderie of the game and the friendships he formed along the way.

Robert's greatest joy came from his role as a husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife Carol, his brother Juan and Carl, sister Emilia, parents Felipa and Ramon, step father Guadalupe, and step son Richard.

Robert is survived by his brothers Manuel and Tony, sister Maria, daughter Belinda Sembera, his son Robert Garza Zavala. His grandchildren Alessandra, Teress, David, Derek, Dylan, Daren, Taylor and Morgan. Great grandchildren Adriel, Geovanny, Emilio, Arealynn, Addelynn, and Yuna .

Any flowers can be sent to Whitehurst or donations made in his honor to the organizations he cared about the most, Los Baños Youth Football and Los Baños Pickle Ball.

Services will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel in Los Banos beginning at 10:00 a.m., burial will follow at the Los Banos District Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Whitehurst Funeral Chapels~Los Banos.
