Obituary

Pedro Cruz, 44 of Oakland Ca, passed away suddenly on January 30, 2024, in Merced Ca. His loss is completely unexpected, and his family is deeply saddened.

Pedro was born on June 7, 1979, at Highland Hospital in Oakland California. He was the first-born child to Pedro Cruz Sr and Doreen Castillo and is older brother to Alicia & Sereena. Pedro attended elementary school at Garfield elementary school in Oakland Ca, it was there that he also attended Roosevelt middle school, and then later attended Oakland High.

Pedro was loved beyond measure the moment he came into this world. He grew up with a village of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him immensely. It is said that he was especially spoiled by his grandma Cruz.

When Pedro decided he wanted to go to truck driving school, it was a whole new adventure for him. He was so happy the day he passed his driving test that he cried. It was such a great accomplishment for him. It was around that time that Pedro made another huge decision. On April 3, 2018, he married the love of his life Davelene Cruz. He soon relocated to Los Banos, Ca and started to build a life with his new wife and 2 new stepdaughters, Celeste and Emily. He was just what that little family needed. Luckily, growing up with a bunch of aunts he had no problem being in a house full of girls. He showed patience and grace in the way he treated his family and others around him.

Pedro started his trucking career at Morning Star trucking company. After a few seasons he moved on to work for Central California Irrigation District. It was here that Pedro made some friends he held dear to his heart. After a while it was time for Pedro to spread his wings and he started working for SaveMart distribution Center. He liked helping people and was readily available to help any of his coworkers if they needed help.

Pedro had the biggest heart; his kindness and generosity left a mark on those who got to know him and spent time with him. He was such a jokester. He loved music and singing and finding ways to get on your nerves. When you think of Pedro, think of his smile, this is how he should be remembered the most.

The family is devastated by his sudden departure, and greatly appreciates everyone's support during this difficult time.
