Obituary

Jose Arzola, a longtime resident of Los Banos, CA passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 in Los Banos, CA. He was 76 years old. Jose was born on April 12, 1946 in Tijuana, Mexico to Clemente and Guadalupe (Alarcon) Arzola.
Jose, is from a large family, he had 4 sisters and 3 brothers, Maria, Manuela, Florentino, Leonor, Alfredo, Carolina and Esteban. Jose was born in Tijuana he was the fourth of the 8 born and was raised in Durango where he hunted rabbits in the hills and helped his dad with the cattle. The family traveled to Tijuana where he worked making picture frames and he really liked that job.
At 27 years old he met his wife Amparo and they had their first son, Rene, who looked just like him except the curly hair.
The couple came in 1977 to live in Gilroy, California where Jose watered the fields of Christopher Ranch. During this time the couple had their first daughter, Adriana and four years later a second daughter was born, Crystal, both which he received with lots of joy. Together with his wife he raised his grandkids Angie and Rigo, both of which he loved as if they were his own.
After some time, his friend, got him a job working in demolitions with Robinson and Morretti, where he worked may years until he was injured and later retired from that job. But that did not stop him from maintaining his yard clean, he would even cut the edges of his lawn by hand using scissors, he washed dishes with extremely hot water and in his free time he would make salsa, cook, planted, tinkered with his watches and he had many other pending projects. He loved to watch his television, he watched many movies especially those with Chuck Norris and he loved watching baseball and football with the guys. In 2000, he and his wife purchased a home in Los Banos and during these years he received 5 more grandchildren, Eliana, Viviana, Gabrielle, Danielle & Ezekiel and also 2 great grandchildren, Kylie & Noah, they kept him busy with birthdays, school sports and events and even as a driving instructor.
Jose was not perfect, he had his vices of drinking and smoking, but he never complained of hangovers and was responsible for his actions, he even showed up to work every day.
He met a couple from El Salvador that were pastors and they prayed over him with much love and devotion that when they asked him if he accepted Jesus in his heart, he replied Yes, as his one and only Savior. From this moment, he quit drinking and smoking cold turkey and he picked up a bible.
He read the bible every day while he waited for his grandchildren to come out of school. Jose attended church at Iglesia de Dios, with pastors Hector and Angelica Peña. During this time Jose listened to the Christian music that his wife introduced him to, many songs that he heard touched his heart and filled him with hope.
In his last years up to his last days he looked over his wife and they were inseparable. After Jose accepted Jesus in his life, he lived a complete and happy life with his family.
Jose was preceded in death by his parents Clemente and Guadalupe (Alarcon) Arzola, brothers Florentino & Esteban Arzola, and his sister Manuela.
He is survived by his wife Amparo Arzola, his 3 children, Rene Arzola, Adriana Arzola and Crystal (Fabian) Tapia, his grandchildren: Eliana Tapia, Viviana Tapia, Gabrielle Tapia, Danielle Tapia and Ezekiel Tapia, Rigo Bedolla and Angelene with grandson-in-law Joshua Lopez, Great Grand Children, Kylie Lopez and Noah Lopez and many family and friends.
