William Stenberg, Sr. passed away on August 4, 2013 after a short illness.

William was born in Centerville, Utah on May 16, 1932 and attended Davis High School. He then served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War with service in Guam, Saipan, and Tinian. After returning home from the service, he married his wife of 60 years, Beverly. He attended the University of Utah and graduated as a pharmacist in 1956.

Immediately after graduation, he came to California to help with the establishment of the University of the Pacific School of Pharmacy in Stockton under the supervision of Martin Winton, who would later become his employer as a pharmacist in Fresno.

He moved to Los Banos in 1965 to start at Los Banos Drug. He served as owner and manager until his retirement several years ago.

He is survived by his wife Beverly; Two children: daughter Whitney Giannone (Antone) and two grandchildren Annalina Giannone and Jordan Giannone; and son William Stenberg, Jr. (Deborah) and four granchildren Ashleigh Neilson, Jensen Stenberg, Parker Stenberg, and Courteney Stenberg.

William was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hiking, hunting and fishing.

He was active member of the Los Banos Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was also a member of Phi Delta Chi Fraternity, Rotary International, Elks Lodge, International Order of Odd Fellows, and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel.
