May 25, 1918 – September 19, 2013

Josephine Sergi, our loving mother, grandmother, and sister passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2013 in Los Banos, California. She was born in Grumento Nova, Italy on May 25, 1918 and never lost her “Italian style”. She was a beautiful 95 year old lady, still cooking her specialties for her family and counseling them with her wisdom. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends whom she loved to hostess in her home. She is survived by: her devoted son Leonard Sergi and his wife Diane, her loving grandson Dr. Mark Sergi and his wife Karina and great-grandsons Nicholas, Jacob, and Aidan; Tracy Sergi, mother of Nicholas and Jacob; her dear sister Anita Giannone and her nephew Anthony Giannone, his wife Whitney and their children Annalia and Jordan. She has a loving sister in Italy, Lina Palmieri and a big family there with whom she was always in touch and stayed very close. She was preceded in death by her grandson Paul whom she loved dearly, and by her sister Luisa Pricolo in Italy. Visitation will be held at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel in Los Banos on Thursday, September 26, 2013 from 5:00-7:00 p.m., followed by Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Los Banos on Friday, September 27, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Services are under the direction of Whitehurst Funeral Chapel~Los Banos
