Obituary
Marilyn was born in Wisconsin and moved to Oregon as a young child. In 1957 she graduated from Cascade Union High School in Turner, Oregon. She met the love of her life, Glenn Strohmeyer in 1955 and dated for four years before they married on April 16, 1959. After they married they opened and ran a restaurant for a short time in Redmond, Oregon. Shortly after that they moved to California and lived in Patterson where they had their first daughter, Peggy Anne and moved to Crows Landing where they had their second daughter, Janet Sue. In 1979 the family moved to Los Banos after buying three Laundromats which they owned for over 20 years and where she earned her name “Sudsy”. After the children were grown, Glenn & Marilyn traveled and have been in every state in the union including Hawaii & Alaska. They also visited friends in Canada.
Marilyn enjoyed getting together with her husband, daughters and grand-kids for birthdays and holidays, but seemed to enjoy Easter the most. She enjoyed hiding the “special” Easter egg from the grand-kids.
As an avid seamstress, she used her skills to make quilts with “The Circle of Love”. She enjoyed spending time with her friends at the senior center. She also enjoyed spending time meeting new people across the world on the internet.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Glenn Strohmeyer; her daughters, Peggy and Janet; six grandchildren: Liz, Manny, Adrianna, Annyssa, Tabitha and Marrissa.
A “Celebration of Life” to honor Marilyn will be held on Sunday, October 27, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. at Victory Assembly Church, 2160 East Pacheco Blvd. Suite K, Los Banos, CA. 93635.
