Margaret "Mo Gal" Townsend passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at her home in Bakersfield, after a brief illness. She was 61.
Margaret was born a twin October 27, 1952 in Martinez, California to LT and Alberta (Jenkins) Townsend. Her family relocated to South Dos Palos and she attended the local schools and graduated from Dos Palos High School. She worked for a cannery for 10 years.
In 1983, Margaret moved to Bakersfield where she lived out the remainder of her life.
Margaret was known for the manner in which she kept everything in her home and her life extremely neat, orderly and clean. She had an abundance of family and friends who loved and will miss her dearly.
Margaret was preceded in death by her mother Alberta Moore.
She is survived by her companion Thomas Cotton of Bakersfield. Two daughters: Dayna Martin and Alberta Mosby both of Merced. Three grandchildren. Her siblings are her twin brother Marvin Townsend of Dos Palos, Tommy Lee Townsend and Alexander Green both of Merced, Curtis Green of Kansas, Nellie Dudley of Louisiana, Curtis Townsend of Bakersfield, Leonard Townsend of Illinois, Selena Hollie, Charlene Simms and a host of other relatives and friends.
