Obituary
Reverend Mychael Anthony Williams passed away suddenly November 30, 2013 in Los Banos, California. He was 58.
Mychael was born in Compton, California on May 28, 1955 to Warren and Laura Williams. He attended the local schools, and graduated from Dominguez High School in 1972. He received his Associate Degree from a Junior College. Mychael served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Compton and began to work as a counselor for children with special needs.
In 2001, Mychael relocated to Los Banos, California to care for a beloved aunt until her passing. He united with First Baptist Church where he served faithfully as a Deacon before receiving the call to minister. He was ordained as a minister in 2008. That same year, Mychael established Unity Ministries in Santa Nella, CA and pastored there for three years. Mychael met Anna Hazley and they were married in 2002.
Pastor Williams was a member of NAACP 12AA, Manna Ministries, was a Salvation Army volunteer since 2009 and captain for the Cancer Society's Annual Relay for Life. Pastor Williams’ ministry included providing home cooked meals for those in need, he assisted disadvantaged families in getting funding to pay utility bills when needed and a wide variety of other services to be of help in the community.
He was preceded in death by a son; Mark, his Mother; Laura Williams, his Grandmother; Vinnie Lumsey, and brother.
He is survived by his wife; Anna Hazley-Williams, his father; Warren Williams; a brother, Reggie Williams; a daughter, Chantel Williams, and grandsons; Malik and Elijah and several others, and one great-grandchild.
A visitation will be held Thursday, Dec. 12th 2013 at Whitehurst Funeral Chapels of Los Banos from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. Funeral Service will be held Friday, Dec. 13th 2013 at 11:00 am at United Methodist Church; 1031 Iowa St., Los Banos, CA. Pastor Mychael Williams will be laid to rest with honors at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Gustine at 2 pm.
