Obituary
Jeanne Lindblom passed away Sunday, December 1, at New Bethany Skilled Nursing Community in Los Banos after a long illness. She was born on March 20, 1922, to Richard and Claire Parle in Oakland, California. Jeanne graduated from University High School in Oakland in 1940. She attended University of California, Berkeley and UCSF Nursing School.
Jeanne married the love of her life, Paul Lindblom, on May 16, 1943. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this year. Jeanne and Paul moved to Los Banos in 1943 and made Los Banos their home ever since. Jeanne spent her entire life supporting her husband with their ranching and farming business as well as raising their three children.
Jeanne was a founding member of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church. She was a member of the Children’s Hospital Guild in Los Banos and the University Women’s Book Club. Jeanne enjoyed gathering her family together and traveling with her husband. She loved animals and always had a special fondness for the Los Banos foothills. Jeanne had a creative flair and enjoyed painting as well as knitting.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her mother Claire Parle, father Richard Parle, sister Ruth Craig, and brother Richard Parle, Jr.
Jeanne is survived by her husband Paul Lindblom; sons Craig Lindblom (Earlene) and Richard Lindblom (Bonnie), daughter Christine MacKichan (Bob); grandchildren Erik Lindblom (Robin), Kevin Lindblom, Christopher Lindblom, Paul Lindblom (Amy), Laura Williams (Chris), Elise Lambert (Stephen), and Robert MacKichan III; great-grandchildren: Ingrid Lindblom, Nathaniel Lindblom, Paul Lindblom, Virginia Williams, and Cameron Williams.
Visitation is Sunday, December 8, at 5:00-7:30 PM at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 9, at 11:00 AM at St. Alban’s Anglican Church, 401 West L, Los Banos CA 93635.
