Mary was born and raised in Los Banos and graduated from Los Banos High School. After graduation, she operated her own business called “Mary’s Fountain,” where she met and married Herman Toscano, they were married for 53 years.
She also helped raise her grandchildren and was a very positive figure in their lives.
She belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary V.F.W., Society of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents Francisco and Isola Toscano, Her husband Herman Toscano, and her brother Joe F. Toscano.
She is survived by her daughters: Donna Gonsalves and Linda Alexander; Grandchildren: Hercules Gonsalves (Lorrie), Dathan Holloway (Dean), Elijah Alexander, and Seth Alexander. Great Grandchildren: Gavin and Gunnar Gonsalves, and Tegan Holloway.
Services will begin on Sunday December 29, 2013 with a vigil service with rosary 5:00 – 7:30 p.m. at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel. The funeral mass will be on Monday, December 30, 2013, at 12:00 noon at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, burial will follow at the Los Banos District Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Whitehurst Funeral Chapel ~ Los Banos.
