Obituary
Clarence Marshall, a long time resident of So. Dos Palos, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2014 in Newman. He was 67.
Clarence Marshall was born on August 6, 1946 in Merced, California to Esther Marshall and Charly Jackson. He was the 4th child of 13 in the Marshall family.
Clarence attended local schools and Merced Jr. College to become a teacher working at Head Start for over 20 years. He also worked for Tri Valley growers until they went out of business.
Clarence united with First Baptist Church in the early 60’s and attended there for many years. Thanks be to GOD, Clarence was attending Blossom Street Church at the time he was called home to be with the Lord.
Clarence AKA “Stepper” love spending time with the family and friends, fishing, gardening, playing dominoes and polishing on his “Baby” which was a black and yellow 1972 Cutlas Supreme. Clarence was married to Mearline “Moore” Marshall and to this union five children were born.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mearline, his mom Esther, dad Charly, three brothers; George Sr., Timothy Sr. and Nathaniel, two sisters; Charlie May and Mary Loise, three brothers in law, two sisters in law, one niece and one grandchild.
He leaves to cherish his memory three sons; Clarence Jr., Ike, Otis, six daughters: Tina, Lorena, Debbie, Joyce, Elva, Candi, 30 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren, nine brothers; Calvin, Bobby, Joe, Lee, Sylvester, Vincent, David, J.C., Hughie Sr., eight sisters; Zella, Marilyn, Vivian, JoAnna, Barbara, Susan, Shirley, Linda and one god daughter Tasha.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel of Dos Palos from 5-7 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 14, 2014 at 11:00 am at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel. Burial at the Dos Palos Cemetery District. Services are entrusted to Whitehurst Funeral Chapel-Dos Palos.
