Kathy S. Barnewitz, a resident of Mendota, California previously of Los Banos, California passed away with her husband at her side on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at her residence in Mendota. She was 61.
Kathy was born September 1, 1952 in San Jose, California, the daughter of Auldon and Dolores (Luchessi) Gray. She worked for Los Banos Unified School District for 33 years retiring in 2012. She then moved with her husband to Mendota, where she resided until her passing.
Kathy loved teaching, her students (they called her Mrs. B), reading, fishing and dove and duck hunting. She will be greatly missed and remembered fondly and lovingly by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband John Barnewitz, the love of her life and many family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 11:00 am at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel of Los Banos, CA. Services are entrusted to Whitehurst Funeral Chapel-Dos Palos & Los Banos.
