Robert George Peterson Sr., 93 passed away peacefully on March 12, 2014 with his wife of 47 years at his side. Robert was born in Stockton, California and lived the majority of his years in Los Banos.
He was the oldest of four children outliving his three younger sisters. He served his country proudly in World War II and worked for the United States Postal Service in Los Banos for nearly 30 years.
He was an avid outdoorsman and loved the sports of hunting and fishing which he enjoyed with his wife, friends, and his son, Robert Jr. His favorite camping spot was Frenchman's Reservoir in northern California where he enjoyed many family vacations.
He is preceded in death by his mother Laura Beneker, his step father, Roy Beneker, and his daughter Robyn Duran.
He is survived by his wife Ophelia and children Terri, Marie, Robert Jr., Susan, Mary, Ronnie, Beatrice, Pat, Joy, Linda and Darryl, numerous extended family, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by many. The family expresses their deep appreciation for the compassionate caregivers who lovingly assisted him at Bethel Retirement Community, Acacia Park Rehabilitation, and Community Hospice. Family and friends joined together in a Memorial to celebrate his life on Friday, March 14, 2014 at 3:15 PM atBethel Retirement Community.
