Celeste Marie Ferreira Palomino, 59, a resident of Los Banos, California died on Friday, January 16, 2015. The daughter of John Antony and Eva Lourdes (Gomes) Ferreira on August 30, 1955 in Los Banos, California.
Celeste graduated from Los Banos High School in 1973. In 1982, she graduated from California State University Stanislaus with a teaching credential, while teaching at Livingston, California. She continued to pursue her degree in Public Administration, graduating from San Francisco State University in 1989. She worked as a principal for Stanislaus Union School District from 1991 to 2005. From 2006 to 2012 she worked for Merced School District.
Celeste loved to teach children with a passion. She loved art, animals, music and travel. She was very dedicated to her family and church, serving on the Saint Judes Thaddeus Church board for many years.
She is survived by her husband Fernando Palomino, her three siblings, Victoria (Wayne) Allen of Los Banos, John (Loretta) Ferreira of Turlock and Joseph Ferreira of Tucson, Arizona; step-daughter, Lissa Palomino and step-son, Michael Palomino of Modesto and numerous aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces.
Rosary will be held at Saint Judes Thaddeus Roman Catholic Church, Monday, January 26, 2015 at 7pm, 300 Franci St., Livingston, CA. Memorial Mass will be held at St. Joseph Church on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at 11 am, 1621 Center Ave., Los Banos, CA. A reception will follow at the Los Banos Portuguese Hall.
In lieu of gifts and flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.
