Victor Barron, Jr. passed away Friday, Feb. 13, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center in Merced, CA.
Victor, Jr. was born to Victor and Carmen (Espinoza) Barron, Sr. on July 1, 1948 in Calexico, CA. His family relocated to Dos Palos in the early 1950’s. Victor graduated from Dos Palos High School where he excelled in football and baseball. He attended West Hills College in Coalinga where he was inducted into the Hall of Fame for football.
Victor, Jr. served in the US Army during the Vietnam War for which he was awarded a Bronze Star. He returned to Dos Palos and in 1972 began as a journeyman electrician under his grandfather. He worked as a union electrician for 37 years.
Victor was a member of Sacred Heart Church of Dos Palos, CA., the American Legion Post 83 in Merced, CA and the IBEW Union. Victor and Cynthia were married Sept. 16, 2001. Victor adored his children and grandchildren and cherished every minute that he spent with them. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He was an avid San Francisco Giants and Oakland Raiders fan. Victor was a husband, father, brother and grandfather who will be dearly missed by family and friends.
His parents Victor and Carmen Barron, Sr. and a daughter Ann Marie Weaver preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife Cynthia of Merced, CA. Four children: Victor G. Barron (Kandi) of Dos Palos, CA, Nicholas X. Munoz (Estelina) of Merced, CA., Javier C. Munoz (Cynthia) of Grover Beach, CA and Courtney Bullen (Brian) of Shawnee, OK. Four siblings: Anthony Barron (Darlene) of Cottonwood, CA, Joseph Barron (Diana) of Corona, CA, Vincent Barron (Justine) of the Philippines and Mary Jessie Sandoval (John) of Santa Clara, CA. Ten grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Remembrances in Victor’s name may be made to American Legion Post 83, 939 W. Main St. Merced, CA 95340.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 at Sacred Heart Church of Dos Palos, followed with The Holy Rosary at 10:30am. Mass will follow. Victor will be laid to rest with honors at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery on Friday, Feb. 20, 2015 at 9:30am.
