Rashanda Shane Roper was born December 20, 1973 in Merced, CA. She passed away March 15, 2015 in Palo Alto, CA. Rashanda began her lifelong career in healthcare at Memorial Hospital Los Banos where she was employed as a unit secretary and then a licensed nurse. She spent 18 years with the Sutter facility. Leaving in 2007, she then ventured into travel nursing and instructional nursing, teaching the art that “helping hands are healing hands” with West-Med and later Gurnick Academy. She continued her healthcare career with Los Banos Unified School District and upon its conclusion took a position with Sunnyside Gardens in Sunnyvale, CA as a Nursing Director.
She attended Los Banos Community Church of God in Christ. She was involved with American Heart Association fundraising, several memorial boards and any awareness cause she could assist with.
Rashanda is preceded in death by her father, Roosevelt Burns; her mother, Bernice Cooper; sister, Denetta Jo Cooper; two brothers, Roosevelt Burns Jr. and Patrick Burns.
She is survived by her sisters, Denyse Cooper, Charley Marshall, Regina Holland, Lisa Roper and Jennifer Holloway; her brothers, Kevin L. Alexander and Kevin Burns; a host of nephews and nieces, cousins, aunties and friends.
There will be a visitation on Sunday, March 22, 2015 from 5-7:00 p.m. at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel in Los Banos. Service will be on Monday, March 23, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel in Los Banos. Burial will follow at Los Banos District Cemetery. Services under the direction of Whitehurst Funeral Chapel of Los Banos.
