Obituary
Thomas Jeffery Watkins, 46, a loving father, husband, and son died on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 near Los Banos, California in a traffic accident. He was born on March 1, 1969 in San Luis Obispo, California. The first of two children for Wes and Doris Watkins. Tom graduated from Atascadero High School in 1987, where he was a member of the varsity soccer team. He attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Over the past 15 years, he worked for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitations, most recently in the role of Health Program Manager.
Tom was an avid fisherman and sailor, spending time in Monterey and San Francisco Bay. He also loved the beach, playing the guitar, and sharing coffee with his wife every morning. Tom’s greatest love in life was his daughter Ally and his family, who will forever miss him. For those who knew Tom, his laughter and humor will be missed.
Tom was preceded in death by his grandparents Ted and Mary Beth Watkins and General Hudgens and Susie Allen, Uncle Robert Watkins, and Cousin Robert Ross. He is survived by his daughter Ally Watkins, Ally’s mother Dayna who he remained in close friendship with, wife Leti Mendoza and her children Fabian and Maya Valdez, his parents Wes and Doris Watkins, his beloved brother Brian Watkins and his wife Yonnie and two children, and several aunts, uncles, and extended family.
