Opal L. Furman, a long time resident of Dos Palos died in Merced, California on August 5, 2015 due to natural causes. She was 84.
Opal was born August 25, 1930 in Oklahoma the daughter of William and Maude (Smith) Thornhill. She came to Dos Palos in 1947 from Gilroy.
Opal enjoyed cooking and cared for elderly people. She was a member of The Rock Church.
Opal raised her five brothers after her mom passed away. She will be deeply missed and remembered by her family.
Opal was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Ralph Furman and siblings.
She is survived by her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 10, 2015 from 6-8pm at the Whitehurst Funeral Chapel of Dos Palos. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at 10am at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel of Dos Palos. Burial at the Dos Palos Cemetery District. Services are entrusted to Whitehurst Funeral Chapel-Dos Palos.
