Shirlee Mae Stone was born August 21, 1936 in Mankato, Minnesota to Mr and Mrs Melvin and Bertha Iten. Shirlee passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on August 19, 2015 in Coalinga, California.
Shirlee attended Northern State Teachers College in Aberdeen, South Dakota. She moved to Los Banos, Ca in 1959. On June 18, 1961 she married Bill Stone at St. Joseph's Church, whom she remained with until her recent passing.
Shirlee spent many years working as a pre-school teacher in Coalinga and the last 19 years volunteering as a teacher's aide. She was a devoted Catholic and member of the St. Paul's Catholic Church in Coalinga. She served as a lector and Eucharistic Minister and spent countless hours working with friends to support church activities.
Shirlee is survived by her husband Bill of 54 years, their four sons and their spouses, William
( Kelly) Stone of Bakersfield, CA, Dan (Margarita) Stone of Folsom, CA, David (Kelly) Stone of Coalinga, CA, Mike (Misti) Stone of Coalinga, CA and five grandchildren.
A Rosary will be held at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 637 Sunset Street, Coalinga, CA 93210 on Friday, September 11, 2015 at 7pm. A Memorial Service on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 10 am at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Coalinga, CA. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be sent to the St. Paul's Catholic Church of Coalinga, CA.
