Our loving wife and mother, Cathy, passed away on January 4th, 2016 at the age of 73. Born and raised in the Basque Country in the south of France, she immigrated to San Francisco at the age of 23. She met Jean Pierre in the San Francisco Basque Community and married him in 1967. They were blessed with three children: Sylvia (Jean Michel) Brust, Gilbert Petrissans, and George (Tiffany) Petrissans; six grandchildren: Maika, Antton, Mattin, Joey, Maiya, and Jack. The family moved to Los Banos in 1975 and went into the motel business. They managed the La Casa Motel until 1982 and then the Bonanza Motel until 1993, Upon leaving the motel business, Cathy gave her time and attention to many children that she babysat. She was appreciated for her patience and the love she gave each one of them as if they were her own. Outside of her kids, she was a
member of the Los Banos Basque Club and the St Joseph’s parish. She will be fondly remembered by her family and friends for her smile, her kindness, and her open heart.
Funeral services will be held Thursday January 14th 2016 beginning with the rosary at 10:00 am and followed by the memorial mass at 10:30 am at the St Joseph’s Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Cathy to the American Cancer Society
