Julio Flores Hernandez, Jr., 64, of Los Banos, passed away peacefully in his home, Thursday, June 16, 2016. Julio was born and raised in Merced and attended local schools. In May of 1969, he enlisted in the USMC and served two tours in Vietnam. In 1972, Julio met Rita Hernandez and they married in 1973.
Julio is preceded in death by his father, Julio F. Hernandez, Sr.; grandson, Jimmy G. Copas, Jr.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Rita Hernandez; daughters: Catherine (Jimmy) Copas, Irene (Javier) Ramirez, Rita (Roberto) Rivas, Michelle (David) Felix, Desiree (Jose) Pena; sons: Albert (Renee) Ramirez, Gilbert (Liz) Ramirez; 24 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 16 siblings; and his mom.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 26, 2016, 5-7 p.m. at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel in Los Banos; funeral mass will be Monday, June 27, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church; and burial will follow at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Whitehurst Funeral Chapels~Los Banos.
