Obituary
Sr. Imelda, 83, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2016 on her way home from New Jersey. Sr. Imelda Lobo was born in Goa, India. Her parents were Bras and Matilda Lobo. She was the eldest of seven siblings. Sr. Imelda obtained a BA Degree in Education and all her Religious Studies in Bombay University and Mater Dei in Old Goa respectively. She entered Religious Life in 1959 and in 1962 she made her Profession with the Franciscan Hospitaller Sisters of the Immaculate Conception. Sr. Imelda Lobo was a teacher in various schools as well as Principal. She was transferred to the United States in 1976 where she taught in San
Jose at Five Wounds School for 2 years, then transferred to Los Banos where she taught for 18 years at Our Lady of Fatima School. Sr. Imelda was a calm, simple, and virtuous person. She was outstanding in punctuality and responsibility in all that she did; be it her bookkeeping duties, the perfection of all preparation of her lessons, an outstanding embroiderer, and an avid reader updating her general knowledge. Her sisterly love was intense as well as her spirit. Sr. Imelda had a great family spirit and very clear in her sense of righteousness, and a very hard worker with outstanding time management skills. She was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings. She is survived by her three sisters and one brother. Services will be held on Monday, August 8, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church beginning with a visitation 8:30-9:30 a.m.; Rosary at 9:30 a.m.; Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m.; burial to follow at Los Banos District Cemetery. Services under the direction of Whitehurst Funeral Chapel~ Los Banos.
