Obituary
Honey, Mom, Nana, and Tia Honey is all too well what Eva L. Sanchez was known as. Known for always having open arms, being selfless, having a contagious smile, kind heart, and love like no other. She was born in Bakersfield, California on September 2, 1941 to Francis and Petra Lugo. She was the seventh of eight children.
She married Raymond Sanchez in 1962, they soon welcomed three daughters and a son. They were married for fifty-two years. Her husband and children meant the world to her and everyone knew how much she loved them; she also had love for more than just her children, she offered her love to any one in her presence. She opened her home to anyone and everyone. She was always in her kitchen doing what she loved, cooking for them all. In 1986 she welcomed her first grandchild, then the list began to grow. She cherished her family.
On August 22, 2016 she peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family at Modesto Memorial Hospital. She is preceded in death by her parents Francis and Petra Lugo, her son Raymond Sanchez Jr, her brothers and sisters, and niece Valerie Lugo.
Her beloved life will forever be remembered by her loving husband Raymond Sanchez; brother Ernest Lugo, sister Andrea Lugo; daughters Debra Sanchez, Patricia Sanchez, Ramona Sanchez (Ronald) Straughter; grandchildren Alexandria Sanchez Manzanedo, Raquel Straughter Grey, Raymond Sanchez III, Christopher Leal, Ronald Straughter Jr, Ariel Barba, Thalia Barba,and Valerie Straughter; great grandchildren Gabryal Manzanedo, Raymond Sanchez IV, Rory Grace Manzanedo, Adreoni Manzanedo, and Isabella Grey; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
On Tuesday, August 30, there will be a visitation at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel at 5:00 p.m. On Wednesday, August 31, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. and the funeral mass will begin at 10:00 a.m Burial will follow at the Los Banos District Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Whitehurst Funeral Chapel~Los Banos.
