Carole Austin, 75, of Los Banos, CA passed away peacefully on August 22, 2016 after valiant battle with long-term illness.
She was born in Merced, CA on June 15, 1941 to Roy and Hazel Williams, she married the love of her life, Jerry Austin, on February 5, 1960 in Atwater, CA. She grew up in Pacific Grove and Atwater and graduated from Livingston High School in 1959.
Her favorite job was being a wife to Jerry and a mother to her five daughters. She also co-owned 30 plus years of automotive repair businesses with Jerry. She could always be found managing or watching a softball game for her girls or Jerry - she never missed an event. She was an excellent seamstress and then turned that into a love of quilting. She made hundreds of quilts and other projects over the years and was a member of the Los Banos Arts Council Quilters.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years Jerry Austin of Los Banos; her daughters Stephanie Austin of Los Banos, Paula Austin of Monterey, Laura Austin of Atwater, Nicki Henson (Richard) of Fresno and Lindsay Brunton (Scott) of Atascadero; sisters Kathleen Rogers and Jeanne Pennock and brother Roy Williams.
One of her greatest joys was being grandma to her six grandchildren - Cynthia Austin-Corah, Weber, Lily and Breck Brunton and Hayden and Austin Henson.
The family greatly appreciates the wonderful care and kindness that Carole received at both Los Banos Memorial Hospital and Dos Palos Memorial Skilled Nursing Facility.
On Monday, August 29, 2016, there will be a visitation from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel, 1840 S. Center Rd., Los Banos, CA. Funeral services will also be at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow service at 1:00 pm at Winton Cemetery, 7651 Almond Ave., Winton, CA.
