Hazel Cook was born in Dos Palos, Ca on May 11, 1926 to Alfredo and Albertina (Frediani) Tognotti in Dos Palos, CA. She went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 20, 2017.
Hazel married Roy Cook on July 27, 1946 and together they raised their family in Dos Palos, where she resided for 88 years.
Hazel was active in her church, was a member of the Altar Society, ICF, Golden Agers, and American Legion Auxiliary. Over the years she enjoyed playing bridge, sewing, cooking, crocheting, ceramics, and gatherings with family and friends.
She worked in the office of Dr. Paul Smith in Dos Palos for almost 40 years and after retiring, she enjoyed many wonderful times in Bass Lake with Roy and her grandchildren and friends.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Dino, and her husband Roy Cook.
She is survived by her two children; Janice Kelley of Chowchilla and her husband Dean, Fred Cook of Fresno and his wife Janet, five grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, her sister Angie Picchi, and step sister Jennie Sylvester.
Hazel loved her family and that love was returned. She was an excellent example of generosity and kindness and will be missed by all.
A Holy Rosary for Hazel will be recited at Sacred Heart Church of Dos Palos, CA on Friday, January 27, 2017 at 11:00 am followed by the Funeral Mass.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dos Palos or the St. Jude League.
