Obituary
Anna Brucato Moretti passed away peacefully after a brief illness on April 16, 2017, at the age of 94.
Anna was born to her parents, Ferdinando and Angelina Brucato, on January 10, 1923 in Cefal, Sicily. She met her husband, John Moretti, when he was stationed in Italy with the U.S. Army. She was proud to become his war bride when they married in New York City in 1947. They then settled in Los Banos, where John was a California Highway Patrolman. Together they opened Foster’s Freeze in 1952. Anna enjoyed her time spent as a housewife and mother, while helping with the family business. There was nothing more important to Anna than her family. She loved traveling to Italy and the east coast to visit loved ones. Anna always looked forward to time spent with friends, and she never met a stranger.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Johnny, two brothers, and two sisters. She is survived by her daughters Rita (Ron) Bland, Joanna Morris, and Judy (Tom) Stown; her grandsons Jason (Sara) Goins, Justin (Jenny) Goins, John (Stephanie) Morris, Kevin (Loni) Raineri, Bret (Jenae) Raineri, and Troy (Josie) Raineri; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; her brother Anthony (Francesca) Brucato; a beloved niece Silvana (Gary) Polgar; as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
A visitation will be held at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel in Los Banos on Sunday, April 23 from 5p.m.-7p.m. with a recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on Monday, April 24 at 10a.m., with internment to follow at the Los Banos Cemetery.
