Bart Frantz, a longtime resident of Firebaugh, passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Doctor’s Medical Center in Modesto. He was 66.
He was born August 30, 1950 in Venango County the son of Peter and Helen (Thompson) Frantz.
Bart graduated from Cedar Crest High School and attended Penn State University. His passion was flying. He flew solo at the age of 16 and continued on to become a ground instructor, a test pilot of ultralights and a WWII history buff. Bart was a member of Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. He spent the latter half of his life with his friends at Eagle Field Airport.
Bart was proud of being a pilot and was good at it. He will be deeply missed and remembered lovingly by his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Peter and Helen (Thompson) Frantz, one sister; Paula J. (Frantz) Francis.
Bart is survived by his son; Bart A. Frantz II of Foster City, California, three sisters; Elaine C. Frantz of Pennsylvania, Deanne (Frantz) Montgomery of Colorado and Patricia J. Frantz of South Carolina and many family and friends.
A Memorial Service will begin Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel of Los Banos. Services are entrusted to Whitehurst Funeral Los Banos.
