Malcom was born to Bearl and Jessie Nelson on January 30, 1939 in Los Banos, CA. Malcom attended Los Banos High School. As a student he would spend his summers and vacations working alongside his father in the construction business. After graduating high school in 1957, he would join his father full time, becoming his business partner in 1964.
Malcom loved building homes and remodeling for people. He built his last home, for his son and daughter-in-law, in 1996, before he was forced to retire because of his health.
He met his wife Toni in 1957, they dated for four years and married in January 1961. They were married for 56 years. Malcom and Toni have four children and they were the world to him.
Malcom loved hunting on the Hansen Ranch with Don Hansen and all of his other buddies. Later when his sons were old enough he also love taking them hunting. Malcom also loved to go deep sea fishing and fishing in Eagle Lake with Tex Owens and other friends.
His worst night mare was the loss of his granddaughter Katie in 1997.
He loved his family and friends dearly. Malcom was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be truly missed.
Malcom was preceded in death by his parents Bearl and Jessie Nelson and granddaughter Katie Nelson.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Toni Nelson, two sons; Steve (Kerri) Nelson, Kevin (Trisha) Nelson, daughters; Leslie (Tom) Butler, Jennifer (Franklin) Rocha, grandchildren; Cody (Michelle) Nelson, Cale (Nicole) Nelson, Shane Nelson, Andrew Butler, Sarah Butler, Michael Butler, Haley Rocha, Laney Rocha, great grandchildren, Macie Nelson and Laelah Nelson and many family and friends.
A Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 10 am at Whitehurst Funeral Chapels followed by the Funeral Service at 11am. Burial at Los Banos Cemetery District.
