Jorge Manuel Alves Souza, 63, was welcomed into heaven on September 3, 2017. He was born to the late Manuel and Luzia Souza in Posto Santo, Terceira, Azores, Portugal on June 6, 1954.

At the age of 11, Jorge immigrated with his family to California. In 1974 he graduated from Gustine High School and worked in the dairy industry.

In 1979, Jorge married Olga Machado and started a family in Los Banos, CA. In 1998, he began working for the City of Los Banos Public Services Department and retired in 2012. His favorite interests were bullfights, playing soccer, watching sports, and spending time with his family.

Jorge is survived by his wife, Olga; his children Jelene de Melo (George), Stacy Souza Elms (Brian), and Bryan Souza (Hannah); his grandchildren Isabella and Katelyn de Melo, Vivien and Owen Elms, and Hallee Souza; and his siblings Joe Souza and Martha Van Gastel (Keith).

Friends and family are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service on September 11, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. at Our Fathers House (Oasis Church), 1005 I Street, Los Banos, CA and burial at the Los Banos Cemetery.
