William Edwards passed away peacefully at home in Los Banos on September 11, 2017. Later in life referred to as Bill, he was born on June 14, 1947. He was born in Burlington Vermont to Harold and Irma Edwards. Growing up in Montpelier Vermont he graduated from Montpelier high school in 1967.
Immediately after High School, he enlisted in the Navy and rose to the rank of Second Class Petty Officer serving on the USS Black.
In the summer of 1969 while on shore leave in San Francisco, he met his future wife. After completing his military commitment in May 1970, Gina and Bill got married that July in Sacramento, California. A few years later, he would go to work for Cal-Trans where he worked for many years and retired from. Often times prior and after retirement Bill and Gina would enjoy deep-sea fishing, attend concerts, go to plays and visiting their grandchildren.
Bill will be remembered as a loving husband, father and good friend. Bill leaves behind his wife Gina of 47 years, his adult son's Blair and William, two grandchildren Kawiki and Piki. He was preceded in death by his parents and in-laws. According to Bill's wishes there will be no formal funeral services. The family asks instead of sending flowers please make a donation to your favorite charity in memory of Bill.
