Frank Freitas, a life time resident of Los Banos, passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at the age of 84 years old.
Frank was born on January 2, 1934 in Los Banos, CA to Frank and Alexandrenia Freitas. He attended local schools and after High school, he worked with his parents on their dairy.
Frank met the love of his life Marlene at his friend’s wedding where he was the best man and she was the maid of honor at that wedding. Three years later, they started dating and got married on February 10, 1962.
Frank purchased the dairy business from his parents and he and Marlene lived on the ranch until 1970.
On September 1970, Frank sold his dairy and went to work for David Santos Farming then for Peluso Cheese Co. for a short time. He was a member Our Lady of Fatima Society and Lady of Mt. Carmel Society.
Frank also worked for the San Luis Water District on the maintenance crew for a few years, then he transferred to CCID and worked there as a heavy equipment operator until he retired in 1999 at the age of 65. He remained very active assisting Marlene with her bookkeeping business until he became ill on October. He enjoyed going to the local banks for the business and joking with the people there. He always had a big smile for everyone. Frank was a modest man who loved his wife and family and friends very much.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents: Frank and Alexandrenia Freitas, one brother: Tony M. Freitas and one sister: Mary F. Lewis.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 55 years: Marlene Freitas and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel of Los Banos from 5-7pm followed by the Recitation of the Rosary at 7pm. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on Monday, January 22, 2018 at 10am.
