Mary G. Magdaleno a long time resident of Dos Palos, CA passed away on January 25, 2018 surrounded by her loving family in Los Banos, CA. She was 89 years old.
Mary was born on July 18, 1928 in Escondido, California the daughter of Manuel and Josefina (Sanchez) Gortarez.
In June of 1949, Mary married the love of her life Vincent Magdaleno, Sr. in Dos Palos, CA. She was a co-owner and operator of the Trading Post in Dos Palos. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church of Dos Palos.
Mary enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking and baking for them, and doing puzzles with her great grandchildren.
In her spare time, Mary enjoyed gardening, watching her novelas, and having fun going to the casinos with her sisters in law, Josie and Julia. She was a giver in need to many. Mary was a faithful in reciting her Holy Rosary every day and looked forward to Sunday morning prayer with the ladies from Sacred Heart Church. She will be greatly missed and remembered fondly and lovingly by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Manuel (Josefina) Gortarez, husband: Vincent Magdaleno, Sr., son, Victor Magdaleno Sr. and one granddaughter Baby Jae Eddings.
She leaves to cherish her memories; eight sons: Vincent Jr., Henry Sr. (Verna), Danny, Trinidad (Monica), Johnny, Pete (Gloria), Arturo, and Joey (Summer) Magdaleno, one daughter, Virginia Birlew, one sister, Oralia Marin, 25 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and many family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 6pm – 7pm at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel followed by Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7pm. The Funeral Mass on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 10 am at Sacred Heart Church. Burial at the Dos Palos Cemetery District. Services are entrusted to Whitehurst Funeral Chapel-Dos Palos.
