Don Avila, a lifetime resident of Los Banos, CA passed away on April 21, 2018 in Chowchilla, CA. He was 56 years old.
Don was born April 19, 1962 in Los Banos, CA, the son of Raymond and Inez Avila. He attended Catholic School in Los Banos at O.L.F. and continued his education at Los Banos High School.
Don worked for his father at Kings County/Cal Western.
In 1988 Don welcomed his first child, Aaron Avila and his second child Amber Avila in 1990. In 1995, he gained two step daughters, Chelsee and Vanessa Rodriguez. He had a passion for baseball and attended as many games as possible. He made many friends along the way and never met a stranger. He always left with a friend. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his children; Aaron, Chelsee, Amber and Vanessa, four grandchildren; Kimberly, Leah, Alexys and Maddy, many beloved nieces, nephews, siblings: Susan (Avila) Wilcox of Irvine, CA; David and Mary (Stroh) Avila of Fair Oaks, CA; Judy (Avila) and John Cover of Novato, CA; Nancy (Avila) and Danny Donoghue of Vacaville, CA and friends.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 from 5- 7pm at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel of Los Banos followed by the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 pm. The Funeral Service on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at 10:00 am at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel of Los Banos. Burial at Los Banos Cemetery District. Services are entrusted to Whitehurst Funeral Chapel.
