Cheryl Diane Moody, age 61, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 6th, at Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson. She was born July 30th, 1956, in Santa Clara to Rowena and Harold Moody. Cheryl grew up in Los Gatos with her older brother Steven and younger brother Dave. After graduating high school in Los Gatos, she traveled Europe on her own. Upon returning from Europe, she attended Santa Clara University and graduated Magna Cum Laude.
In 1984, Cheryl moved to Los Banos and began her 34-year teaching career at R.M. Miano Elementary. During her career, she had many roles such as LBTA President and State Council. Cheryl was respected and loved by administrators, teachers, staff, and students and made an impact on many people’s lives. Cheryl loved reading books, quilting, traveling all over the world (having visited every continent), spending time with her friends, watching old movies, and going to casinos where she was always lucky. But above all, she loved working with the students that she devoted her life to.
Cheryl is preceded in death by her mother Rowena, her father Harold, and her brother Steven.
Cheryl is survived by her brother Dave, his wife Sharon, and many beloved family members.
Cheryl’s service will be on Monday, June 11th, at 5:00 p.m. at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel in Los Banos. Following the service, we will have a celebration of life at R.M. Miano Elementary Cafeteria.
