Gary Arthur Cozzi
Gary Arthur Cozzi, 67, passed away on March 1, 2026, in San Francisco, California. He was born on August 22, 1958, in Los Banos, California, to Art and Ludy Cozzi.

Gary built a meaningful career in healthcare and was deeply dedicated to helping others. He served as a Healthcare Specialist at Laguna Honda Hospital and Rehabilitation Center, where he worked as the Clinical Support Services Manager. Gary was respected as a leader in post-acute care and was known for his compassion, professionalism, and commitment to both patients and colleagues.

Gary shared a loving life with his husband, Anthony Laugheed. He is also survived by his sisters, Linda Parreira and Terri (Gerald) Dompeling; his niece, Janay (Kurt) Parkinson; his nephew, Jason (Sharene) Parreira; and his beloved great-nieces and great-nephews, who always called him their (Gruncle Gary), Abbigail and Hannah Parkinson, and Clayton, Kavin, and Aivry Parreira.

Music was a lifelong passion for Gary. His love of drumming began in the fifth grade and continued through his junior high and high school marching bands. After moving to San Francisco, he joined the San Francisco Lesbian/Gay Freedom Band, where he proudly played percussion. After several years with the band, Gary was invited to serve as the organization's Events Coordinator, a role in which he helped support and organize many memorable performances and community events.

Gary had a smile that could brighten any room and a sense of humor that made everyone around him laugh. He was known for his playful, goofy spirit and his deep love for family. He especially enjoyed the films of Mel Brooks, with Young Frankenstein and Blazing Saddles among his favorites. Hawaii was his happy place, where he loved to relax and enjoy the beauty of the islands. Gary was also an amazing cook who loved sharing meals with the people he cared about
--often with a classic 7 and 7 cocktail in hand. Above all, Gary will be remembered as an amazing husband, son, brother, and uncle whose
warmth, humor, and kindness touched many lives. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
