Elizabeth "Liz" Marie Begonia
July 24, 1961 - July 25, 2025
Elizabeth "Liz" Marie Begonia, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025, in San Jose, California--just one day after her 64th birthday. She most recently resided in Los Banos, CA, where she shared a home filled with love, laughter, and music.
Born on July 24, 1961, Liz lived a life full of joy, warmth, and compassion. She was the cherished wife of Douglas Begonia and the proud mother of Anthony "Tony" Estrada, Douglas "Dougie" Begonia, Joseph "Joey" Begonia, and the late Alyssa Begonia, whom she missed dearly. Her heart overflowed with love for her grandchildren, Lea Hernandez and Richard Hernandez, who brought her endless joy and whom she adored above all else.
Liz spent many years working as a baker and cashier at Save Mart, Albertsons, and Lucky's, where her kindness and vibrant personality lit up every room she entered. She was known for being the life of the party--always ready to dance, laugh, and celebrate with the people she loved.
She found deep happiness in motherhood, once saying it was her greatest dream come true. She loved dogs, cherished long rides on Harley motorcycles with her husband, and found peace in nature, especially while hiking. Music and concerts were her happy place, especially when shared with family and friends. She also took great pride in her Native American heritage and made sure to instill that cultural pride and knowledge in her children.
Liz's memory will live on through her family, her laughter, and the countless beautiful moments she created for those lucky enough to know her.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Whitehurst Chapel in Los Banos, California.
