Joseph Rivas
January 29, 1952 - May 19, 2025


Joseph Rivas was born on January 29, 1952, in Los Banos, California to parents Arthur Rivas and Virginia Cabrera Padilla Rivas. Joe was a long-time resident of Los Banos.

Joseph (Joe) went to Los Banos High School and graduated in 1970. Joe began his career as a grocery clerk at Patricio Grocery. In 1975 Patricio Grocery became Save Mart Supermarkets. Joe loved being a grocer. With over 20 years of committed service he retired with Save Mart. After retirement, Joe worked for various Los Banos schools where he worked as a teacher's aide. Joe had a love for kids and loved working close with kids that needed additional support.
Joe enjoyed a good sports game. He would attend local high school football games, grandchildren sports games, and rooted for his SF 49ers. Joe loved to socialize and loved a good meal. If he wasn't at a sporting event he would be eating at his favorite local establishments, Black Bear and Country Waffle House. Joe loved his hometown and the people that lived there.

Joe is survived by his brother Daniel Rivas (Julie), sister-in-law Rosie Rivas, and four stepchildren: Jeremy Ruiz (Rachel), Rhonda Guzman, Frank Ruiz (Christine) and Brandy Ruiz, eight grandchildren: Alexis, Jillian, Arissa, Cody, Jenna, Janelle, Ayden and Olivia along with many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in passing by his parents Arthur J Rivas and Virginia C. Rivas, wife Terri Rivas, sister Nancy Skaggs and brother Sam Rivas.

The family will be having a burial service for Joseph Rivas at Los Banos Cemetery District on Saturday August 9th 2025, at 11am where he will be laid to rest. Please join us to pay your respects.
