Jose Meza Hernandez, a longtime resident of Dos Palos passed away in Clovis, CA on April 18, 2025, at the age of 59. Jose was born February 16, 1966, to Nicolas and Antonia Meza in Guanajuato, Mexico. He worked faithful, dedicated and committed for David Carlucci more than 28 years.
In his younger years, Jose played soccer in which he won many trophies as a goalie. He came from Guanajuato, Mexico to Dos Palos at the age of 25 years old. Jose worked in agriculture for many local ranches.
Jose met the love of his life Maria Luz and married her on June 24, 2006, at Sacred Heart of Dos Palos, CA. They were together for 19 years until his passing.
Jose loved to barbecue for his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He had a green thumb for gardening; he used to plant zucchini onions and various vegetables and shared them with the neighbors.
He was a devoted Catholic, member of Sacred Heart Church, dedicated to his church and was the head usher at the 10:30 am mass.
He is preceded in death by his parents Nicolas and Antonia (Hernandez) Meza and siblings: Juan Meza, Leocadia Meza, Juana Meza, Demesio Meza, Isac Meza and Seferino Meza.
Jose is survived by his wife Maria Luz Meza of Dos Palos, his son Jesus Meza, five stepchildren: Alexia Valenzuela, Brianna Valenzuela, Yvette Valenzuela, Desirree Valenzuela and Anairis Valenzuela, one sister Paula Villalvaso Meza, two brothers: Feliz and Rafael Meza, eight grandchildren and many family and friends who love him. He will be missed greatly by his family and friends; we are so thankful for the time we had with him. He is now walking with God.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at 5:00 pm at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel of Dos Palos. Holy Rosary and Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 9, 2025, at 10 am at Sacred Heart Church of Dos Palos. Burial will be in the Dos Palos Cemetery District in Dos Palos, CA. Services are entrusted to Whitehurst Funeral Chapel-Dos Palos.
