Charles (Charlie) A. Murray
Devoted Husband, Father, Grandpa, and Uncle. Charles A. Murray, 89, passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, with his family by his side.
Charlie was born August 16, 1933, in Jackson County, Missouri to George and Jeanette Murry. He was one of four children, Stanley, George and Margaret.
Charlie's hard-working ethic began at a young age, when he worked on a farm with his father. He would later meet his late wife Gladys and together they would raise Bobby Bretz and their daughter Jeannette (Jeannie) Harp.
Later in life he would meet his wife Soledad Kantoniemi and he would become a very loved member of a large but close-knit family. He would gain three daughters and son in laws: Debbie and Carl Martin, Elena and Ferdie DelaCruz, and Sandy and Kelly King. He would also gain a son and daughter in law; Steven and Amelia Kantoniemi.
He is blessed with twelve grandchildren, Alex and Jennifer Harp, Kasondra and Jason Young, Helena and Dustin Blythe, Kelly and Kymber King, Nicole King, Corinna Martin, and Veronica and Jonah Moon.
Charlie has fourteen great grandchildren, Samantha, Dylan, Zachary, Taylor, Cierra, Louie, Anthony, Jocelyn, Rylee, Isabella, Brayden, Noah, Linkin and Willow.
Charlie served his country in the Navy for four years and was in the reserve for another four years. He served in the Korean war. After his time in the service, he worked for the Ford plant in Missouri as an assembly line man and would later retire after 42 years. He will forever be remembered for his love of storytelling and zest for life.
