Jack Spankowski, Sr. passed away January 1, 2022. Jack was born in Merced and settled in Los Banos in the early 1940's and lived the rest of his natural life in Los Banos. He attended local schools and graduated from Los Banos High School in 1957. He married his high school sweetheart, Ida Mae Lewis on December 26, 1959. Together they had three children.
Jack worked as a supervisor mechanic for Tri Valley Growers, Plant #5 in Volta for over 20 years. He loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family; and quiet time with his soulmate of 62 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents John and Hazel Spankowski; brother, Tom Spankowski; Sisters Barbara Arvisio and Sylvia Lee. Jack is survived by his wife Ida Mae of Los Banos; two daughters: Deborah Hoopiiaina and son-in-law Tom of Modesto, Ida Marie Subia and son-in-law Randy of Nevada; and one son, Jack Spankowski, Jr. and daughter-in-law Holly (Hoefer) of Los Banos.
The Holy Rosary will be recited at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on Monday, January 31, 2022 @ 10:00 a.m, the funeral mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. and burial will be held at Los Banos District Cemetery at noon
