Sara Lee Rubio, daughter to Pedro and Carmen Rubio, was born on June 2, 1968, in Fresno, CA. She was the oldest daughter of two. She attended local schools and graduated from Los Banos High School in 1986. She was in the color guard in band and she played outfield for the Tiger softball team.

Sara started working right out of high school. Later, in 1990, she graduated from Federico Beauty School as a licensed nail technician. She worked two jobs for over 30 years. She worked at various nail salons until she finally was able to open her own shop, Tip and Clip. She also worked for Los Banos Unified School District for 32 years. She spent 22 years at Henry Miller Elementary as an Instructional Assistant and she spent 10 years at Los Banos Junior High School as an In-House Supervisor, and she loved every minute of it!

In 1991, she started her main job as a mother to her one and only true love, her son, Pete. While working her two jobs, she managed to balance her job as a mom. She was able to be a band mom for 7 years following Pete around at all the band reviews.

Sara was a very talented nail tech. She was able to draw anything onto the bed of a nail! She was a good listener and a great friend. She always had a good story to tell and she would pass the time away with all the latest and greatest gossip! At school, she lent an ear to the many students she came in contact with all the while keeping a firm but fair classroom environment.

Sara’s hobbies included crafting, scrapbooking, photography, and creating sweet treats for any and every event! She also loved to go to see the SF Giants play. During football season, she would root for her Cowboys every chance she could get, especially when they played against her best friend Sally’s team-the Niners!

Sara’s loving and generous spirit will be missed by those who loved her but she will forever be in our hearts. She passed peacefully on Tuesday, May 29, 2018. She was preceded in death by her only sibling, Andriena, who passed away in June of 1993.

She leaves behind her greatest blessing who called her Mom, Pete; her parents, Pedro and Carmen; her future daughter in-law, Gabby; her best friend, Sally; her dog, Miles Austin; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and her car, Ninja.
