Kim Shelly (Finch) Lotz, a long-time resident of Los Banos, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2026, in Los Banos, CA with her family by her side.
Kim was born December 30, 1951, in Wisconsin to Theodore T. and Emogene m. Finch. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Kim moved to California at a young age. She attended St. Joseph's Elementary in Cupertino, Rogers Jr. High, Blackford High and Mother Butler Memorial High School and graduated in 1970. After graduating from high school, she met the love of her life Calvin G. Lotz at a San Jose Street Racers and got married on February 19, 1972. They had two children, Theodore T. and Laura I Lotz. They moved to Lake Tahoe then to Los Banos in 1982. Kim was a stay home mom until her daughter Laura started school.
She worked at Los Banos Livestock, Dos Palos Y Auction Yard, Newman Livestock and Escalon Livestock Market, picking up cattle from dairies and backyard growers (hated the backyard pickups). Kim clerked the sales and ran the alleys.
In 2010 she gave all up to stay home and raise her goats. She had done horses and cattle, but the goats were her favorites.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Calvin G. Lotz.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories: Laura Lotz, grandson Jay C. Weik and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Kim will be lay to rest on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. A visitation will be held at 10:00 am at Whitehurst in Los Banos followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 am. Burial at the Los Banos Cemetery District.
