March 5, 1931 - April 27, 2026

Josephine Delores (Souza) Pereira, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin, friend, and lifelong daughter of Los Banos passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family and love on April 27, 2026.

Born in 1931, Josephine lived a long and beautiful life filled with faith, and kindness. She was the eldest of five children born to John M. and Lena L. (Foletta) Souza.

Josephine was married to the love of her life, Joe Pereira, in 1950 and together they built a strong, loving family rooted in warmth, laughter, and tradition. Josephine and Joe were a testament to how great love can be. Together for nearly 70 years, their partnership was devoted, strong, and enviable.

Josephine was the cherished mother of Shirley Pereira, Joseph Pereira, Melinda Pereira and Arlene Salha (Rhett). She was the proud grandmother of Travis Salha (Nikki) , Nathan Salha (J.T. O'Loughlin) and Jarred Salha (Kim); and the adoring great-grandmother of Dougie and Juliette Salha.

Josephine was preceded in death by both her parents, her husband Joe and her siblings, Edward, John Jr, Madeline Pereira and Angelina Souza.

Josephine's legacy of love, faith, and family will live on through those who were blessed to know her.

A rosary will be held on Friday, May 8th at 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Los Banos.
