Obituary
Jorge Silva, 72, of Los Banos, California passed away on March 28, 2026, in Los Banos, California.
Jorge was born on September 22, 1953, in Pihuamo Jalisco to Miguel Silva and Maria de Jesus Mendoza. He was the second youngest of 6 brothers and sister. He grew up in Pihuamo and then immigrated to California in 1970.
Jorge married Santos Salinas on September 27, 1974, in Lindsay, California. They had their oldest son Eric in January of 1976 and Julio soon after. In 1977 Jorge and Santos moved to San Jose where he began working as a janitor at a community college. He then enrolled into a Center for Employment Training program where he learned metal fabrication. He worked as a sheet metal fabricator for over 30 years. Selinda was born in Santa Clara in 1985. In 1992 the Silva family moved to Los Banos, California as he continued to commute to the Bay Area.
He enjoyed playing cards with his family and friends where they would sit for hours into the evenings telling jokes and giving everyone at the table a hard time. He also enjoyed gardening and completing different projects around the house. Though his favorite past time was spending time with his grandchildren and supporting his beloved Chivas de Guadalajara.
He is survived by his wife Santos Silva, children Eric and his wife Elizabeth, Julio, and Selinda. Grandchildren, Emily, Julia, Jackson, Eric, Elizabeth and Jake. Sister Martha Almaguer, brothers Manuel and Ruben Silva.
He is preceded by his mother Maria de Jesus Mendoza, Father Miguel Silva, brother Salvador Silva, and brother Raul Silva.
He will always be loved and missed. He was a wonderful Husband, Dad, Grandfather, Brother, Nino, and Friend.
