Maria Milagres Teixeira Esteves, age 89 peacefully passed away on May 27, 2023 in Los Banos. She was born in Serreta, Terceira, Azores to Francisco Machado Teixeira and Maria Conçeicão Rodrigues. On December 18, 1960 she married Jose Gonçalves Esteves and they had one daughter. She immigrated to the United States on June 14, 1972 living in Los Banos for 50 years.
Maria is survived by her daughter Maria Manuela Costa and son-in-law Dario Costa of Los Banos. Her grandchildren Dario Costa Jr. and Arielle Costa of Los Banos. Dylan (Kelly) Costa of Hilmar. Maria also leaves behind many cousins, nieces and nephews to honor her memory.
Maria was preceded in death by her parents Francisco and Maria Conçeicão Teixeira and her husband Jose Gonçalves Esteves
Maria was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Society, Los Banos and Our Lady of Miracles Society, Gustine.
A recitation of the rosary and funeral mass will take place Wednesday, June 7,2023 at 10:00am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1621 Center Ave, Los Banos, CA 93635.
A committal service will follow at the Los Banos District Cemetery, 16575 Center Ave, Los Banos, CA 93635.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School, Los Banos or Our Lady of Miracles Catholic School, Gustine, CA.
